I just kept putting off actually going to a dealership. Car shopping is the absolutely worst thing I can think of to have to do. My brother was bugging me about BMW. Best car ever ... yada, yada, yada. So, I finally decided we would check out their SUV's. In person. We looked at 3 different BMW SUV's. I was wildly underimpressed. I hate car shopping. After we left there we stopped and talked to a friend and she told us she had just bought a Subaru Outback and a friend that I worked with for years was now the General Manager. Barbara.
Since the Ascent was on the list I had made up of SUV's that were the size I wanted, we stopped by. There was a 2019 Ascent in the showroom. It was even the right color. White with a beige interior. When we talked to Barbara, she gave us her 2020 Ascent to drive home that night so we could check it out. It was the right color, too. By the time we got home I was in love and knew I was going to buy it.
One of my bucket list items is to buy a new vehicle and pay cash for it. I don't mean just that we didn't finance it. I took cash, not a personal or cashier check ... hard cold cash. It took 2 guys a good 30 minutes to count it all. It was so much fun. It's 100% ours. And the icing on the cake ... they gave us $12,000.00 for the Rogue. I was shocked. Barbara said it was because I didn't like the Rogue. They have a price tag of $15,800.00 for it.
I only have one problem. I really don't want to leave it in the VA parking lot for a few hours tomorrow. It may be silly, but I'm not sure I'm going to take it tomorrow. I'd love to have enough bubble wrap for it.
